Smell of Litter Boxes No More |

In a very sad but expected turn of events our family’s 18 year old cat was put to sleep earlier in the week. I got a call from my mom who had the bad news. We all knew it was coming so it wasn’t a surprise. He had lived a long life hunting birds, mice and whatever else he could sneak up outside and inside. He loved staring at pet bird cages. We got him as a kitten when I was just six years old and he kept it going until I was out of college. Even the vet said it was surprising he went this long. Apart from a couple age blemishes, he looked pretty young even in his last days.
Now the litter boxes have been thrown away and he is watching over us in kitty heaven. It is sad when a pet goes but when you get that old some of the sting of passing on goes away. My family will get another cat and find new litter boxes, cat food and toys online later in the year but at this point, we are just respecting the loss of a long time feline friend. I’m sure my mom does not miss cleaning the litter boxes every other day.
