Dog Food Has Gotten Classier Since I Last Checked |

My roommate has a small well-trained terrier I have been getting to know since moving in together. He originally bought the little guy for his girlfriend who has since moved overseas to pursue a dream. While my roommate plans to ship Charlie over the pond after the quarantine period is over, he still treats him almost like a person. This dog loves cheese. While his bowl is always filled with standard dog food we buy online many of his meals take place by the living room couch. This is where we give him assorted handouts. He never begs though.
The other day my roommate opened the front door excited. He had just bought some premium, high-end dog food treats. Opening the clean white cardboard box they came in exposed red velvet cake, carrot cake and sugarless cookies that look almost good enough to snatch up and eat for myself. Apparently, all of this classy dog food was sugarless and safe for pets. My roommate took a big bite out of the carrot cakes slice and said it wasn’t half bad. Charlie didn’t end up really liking it and preferred human food. Ironic.
